On March 26, 2019, Wizards of the Coast published Unearthed Arcana playtest material for Dungeons & Dragons including a new type of item: tattoos!
These look really fun and flavorful, but the options are a little hard to digest when reading through the big narrative blocks that the items require. So, I put together a quick tattoo parlor menu for players to consider the options at-a-glance. I’ve also sorted it by rarity (and then alphabetically), so you know which options are appropriate for your table at the time.
You’ll still need the original material to know the sizes and styles of the tattoos, plus how to attune to them. This should come in handy identifying which options to consider.
I hope you find this chart helpful in your playtesting. I’ve made a customizable chart available my patrons to add new tattoos or columns for prices. For more DM and player aids that make your table run smoothly, check out the ThinkDM Patreon.

What if your character has a mark of a fiend on him or her that gives he or she magical abilities, what could be done with that kind of deal for a character?

Hi Brian! I have a PC in a campaign right now that took an Abberant Dragonmark. When he got the magical tattoo, he specifically worked the design into the dragonmark. Much like in real life, art can be used to cover or beautify scars. I would work on meshing the narrative together! I wouldn’t say having one prevents the other in any way.
